Hello,
It has been a long time since my last post. Admittedly, my original intentions of posting at least once a month have long since failed, but let me try to bring you up to speed.
December:
December was overall a wonderful month. Julie and Meridel came out for 10 days and we had a heck of a time. We travelled to Koh Toa, a beautiful island, where I learned that Phuket was not the most expensive place in Thailand. After they left, I spent Christmas Eve with a few close friends, and then had a lonely Christmas by myself. I then spent the next week with a couple of Indian-Malaysian models; traveling, hanging out on the beach, and picking up the nickname "Cikgu Sexy" (Sexy Teacher). We went to Koh Phi Phi, where I got sick after trying to eat a huge burger and sides in under 30 minutes so that it would be free. My stomach has shrunk since coming here...
January:
January started with me witnessing a drive-by shooting early on New Years Day. (My last post, oh so long ago...). Not a lot of exciting things happen after that (or in comparison to that), this is why I should post more frequently...
February:
February started with a school camping trip to Koh Rang Yai. A great time with my students, who I continue to get along with more and more. At the same time, work becomes more difficult due to pressures from administration. It was publically announced that I volunteered to be a member of the Parent Support Group (when I had never mentioned the possibility), but am using hte new position to cause positive change. I am also finding my voice, sticking up for myself and what's right, without allowing myself to be pushed around.
March:
March will have a good start. I will be going to Cambodia with a few of my favorite teachers and a group of my favorite students at the end of March and will stay until the first day of March. Afterwards, I will split off from the group and spend two days in Malaysia. There I plan on meeting up with a friend that I was introduced to in December. After coming back to Phuket, I will have a few more days of holiday before returning to school. At that point, we shall see...
